L’Oréal Group has established a strategic partnership with French start-up Omi to revolutionize its brand content creation through advanced 3D generative artificial intelligence (AI). The collaboration aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of visual content production across L’Oréal’s wide portfolio of brands.
Omi specializes in generating ultra-realistic product imagery using proprietary 3D gen AI technology. This includes placing physical product models into dynamic digital environments with lifelike shadows, highlights, and reflections. The company is well known for its PhotoDrop feature, which allows brands like L’Oréal to seamlessly integrate and manipulate 3D product models within any background image—delivering studio-quality results in just minutes.
As part of the partnership, Omi’s capabilities will be integrated into L’Oréal’s GenAI Beauty Content Lab, Creaitech. The goal is to streamline workflows, accelerate new product launches, and optimize production costs. The collaboration was recently showcased at VivaTech in Paris, where L’Oréal demonstrated the transformative potential of AI-powered design workflows in real time.
Hugo Borensztein, founder and CEO of Omi, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting Omi’s role in enhancing online retail competitiveness through improved visual content. He emphasized that Omi’s advanced capabilities are already trusted by leading global beauty brands, underscoring L’Oréal’s pioneering spirit in retail innovation.
Founded in 2020 by former Meta executives Hugo and Paul Borensztein, Omi has rapidly grown to serve over 700 B2B clients across sectors including beauty, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and beverages.
