L’Oréal’s Fragrance Brand Launches New Product After 7 Years

Recently, it was reported that L’Oréal Group’s high-end brand Cacharel is set to launch its first new fragrance in seven years. The new perfume, named Ella Ella, marks Cacharel’s latest release since introducing the Yes I Am series in 2018.

Sandrine Groslier, Global President of L’Oréal Group’s Luxury Fragrances Division, stated, “Cacharel is the only fragrance brand in our portfolio that embodies the blossoming femininity of young girls. We aim to reinterpret contemporary femininity from a fresh perspective.”

According to reports, Ella Ella pays homage to Cacharel’s origins. Similar to the brand’s Anaïs Anaïs fragrance launched in 1978, Ella Ella also features a repetitive name. The perfume comes in a peach-pink bottle with a spherical cap adorned with a butterfly sculpture.

The fragrance was created by Dominique Ropion, the perfumer behind Cacharel’s Amor Amor. It features notes of vanilla, orange blossom, and jasmine. Prices range from €59 for 30ml to €118 for 100ml. Ella Ella will first launch in France shortly, with a broader release in Europe and the United States expected in the first half of 2025.

While L’Oréal executives declined to comment on sales projections, industry insiders estimate that Ella Ella could achieve €40 million in retail sales during its first year.

According to the official Cacharel website, the French ready-to-wear brand was founded in 1958 by Jean Bousquet. Cacharel’s offerings include women’s clothing, perfumes, handbags, and watches. Its fragrances are designed to inspire and empower young women, celebrating unforgettable “firsts” with them. Over the years, Cacharel has released iconic perfumes like Anaïs Anaïs, a first fragrance for many young women; Amor Amor, a declaration of love; and the Yes I Am series, which empowers young women to embrace independence.

In October 2022, L’Oréal Group announced the establishment of a new luxury fragrance division within its high-end cosmetics division. Cacharel, along with five other brands previously under the high-end cosmetics division, was transitioned to this new department. Sandrine Groslier was appointed as its president at the time. She stated then, “The goal of creating this new division is to enhance L’Oréal Group’s expertise in fragrances and grow the group’s fragrance brands amid the global rise of the perfume industry.”
