Recently, according to report, L’Oréal has appointed Arnaud Autret as Investment Director at BOLD (Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development), the group’s venture capital fund.
Autret will head investments in Europe for the French beauty company based at its Paris headquarters. Autret spent three years at Illumina Ventures, the corporate VC arm of the global healthtech company. Before that, he was investment director at M Ventures, the CVC unit of German science and technology company Merck.
BOLD currently backs around 30 companies, with recent investments including Debut, an AI-powered ingredient platform, and Uni, a sustainable body care brand. Autret’s appointment marks a further step in L’Oréal’s open innovation strategy, enhancing its ability to tap into cutting-edge biotech, AI, and sustainability-driven innovations in the beauty sector across Europe.
