Fable Investments, a venture capital fund under Natura & Co., has acquired an undisclosed stake in Eadem, a company specializing in products designed for individuals of color. Terms of the stake in Eadem were not disclosed.
“Eadem focuses on empowering bare-skin confidence for individuals with melanin-rich skin and has made a stunning debut at Sephora U.S.,” wrote Fable Investments in a LinkedIn post that went live Wednesday morning.
Kouadio Amouzame and Lin Glover founded Eadem in May 2021 to combat tokenism in the beauty sector and develop skincare solutions tailored to address the specific needs of people of color, particularly focusing on issues such as hyperpigmentation.
Eadem introduced its inaugural product, the Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum, in the United States. This three-in-one gel serum incorporates ingredients like amber algae, niacinamide, and vitamin C, targeting skin pigmentation issues while promoting a radiant complexion. The serum retails for $68 for a 30-ml. bottle on the company’s website.
Subsequently, Eadem has broadened its product range to include items such as the Cashmere Peel, a toner containing exfoliating AHA and PHA, and the Cloud Cushion brightening moisturizer.
The brand quickly attracted the attention of Sephora and was selected to participate in the beauty retailer’s accelerator program in 2021.
