Philip Kingsley Appoints Former Estée Lauder Executive as CEO

Yesterday, Philip Kingsley has appointed Joseph Scott Grigsby as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking the beginning of a “new era” for the more than 60-year-old hair and scalp care brand.

Known for its cult-favorite Elasticizer Deep Conditioning Treatment, Philip Kingsley has built a legacy of professional expertise and innovation in trichology. Grigsby brings over 25 years of experience in the beauty and wellness industry, including senior roles at Estée Lauder Companies, where he helped establish the EMEA corporate innovation team, as well as positions at Sephora, L’Oréal, and Wella US. Most recently, he contributed to the global expansion of luxury hair care brand Virtue.

As we continue to experience phenomenal growth, our team remains committed to upholding the personal legacy of Philip Kingsley.”

Founded in 1957 by renowned trichologist Philip Kingsley, the brand built its reputation through its London clinic, later expanding to international locations and developing professional-grade products for salon and at-home use. It remains family-owned, with Philip’s daughter, Brand President Anabel Kingsley, continuing his mission of expert-led hair and scalp care.

Grigsby succeeds Blake Hughes, who led the company until 2019. Earlier this year, Philip Kingsley also appointed Space NK founder Nicky Kinnaird as Non-Executive Director, reinforcing its ambitions for global expansion and continued innovation in the premium hair care sector.
