A tragic shooting occurred Tuesday evening at KDC/One’s warehouse in New Albany, Ohio, leaving one person dead and five others injured. The New Albany Police Department confirmed that there were no further updates on the conditions of the injured victims as of Wednesday morning.
The suspect, identified as Bruce Reginald Foster III, was an employee at KDC/One and has been taken into custody following the incident. Authorities have not yet disclosed a possible motive for the attack.
KDC/One chief executive officer Nick Whitley issued a statement expressing the company’s grief and commitment to supporting its employees in the wake of the tragedy. “We are shocked and saddened by the tragic shooting that occurred on February 4 at our New Albany, Ohio facility. Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted and their families. The safety and wellbeing of our employees is our top priority. We are actively assisting the New Albany Police Department in their ongoing investigation and are sincerely grateful for the swift action of our local authorities and first responders.”
KDC/One is a major global beauty and personal care manufacturer, producing products for 1,000 different brands. The company recently expanded by acquiring Maesa’s European and Middle Eastern operations and currently operates 25 manufacturing facilities with approximately 15,000 employees worldwide.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
