Yesterday, The Estée Lauder Companies has appointed Rashida La Lande as its new executive vice president and general counsel. She succeeds Deirdre Stanley, who stepped down in April to “embark on a new chapter.”
Before joining Estée Lauder, La Lande served as general counsel at The Kraft Heinz Company for over six years and was previously a partner at the law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
“Rashida’s extensive experience managing legal matters across a diverse portfolio of iconic and new brands for one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world makes her uniquely qualified for this role,” said Fabrizio Freda, Estée Lauder’s president and chief executive officer. In her new role, La Lande will lead the company’s legal strategy and policies globally, reporting to both Freda and executive chairman William P. Lauder.
“Working closely with our board of directors, William, and me, Rashida will be a critical partner in driving [Lauder’s] strategy for long-term, sustainable, profitable growth, and bringing our brands and company to the next level,” added Freda.
La Lande’s appointment follows the recent announcement of the impending retirement of executive vice president and chief financial officer Tracey T. Travis, effective June 30, 2025. Akhil Shrivastava has been named to succeed Travis.
