Recently, Firelight Capital Partners acquired Fromm International, expanding into beauty sector
Fromm International, a prominent manufacturer of hair tools and accessories, including brands like The Hair Edit, Fromm Pro, and Diane, has undergone a change in ownership. Firelight Capital Partners, in its first foray into the beauty industry, has acquired the company. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Previously owned by the Simon-Johnson family since its establishment in 1907, Fromm International will now be led by Martin Okner, who assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer. Kevin Barrett, the current President of Fromm, will retain his title.
With the backing of Firelight Capital Partners, Okner expressed confidence in the company’s strong foundation and stated their commitment to delivering exceptional products and services to customers. The acquisition opens doors for new growth opportunities and expansion through retail distribution and potential acquisitions.
Fromm’s portfolio of brands caters to various channels and markets. Diane and Fromm Pro primarily operate within the professional hair channel, while The Hair Edit has a distribution partnership with Ulta Beauty. The company did not disclose specific sales figures, but Firelight Capital’s website indicates their typical investment range is between $25 million and $100 million in companies.
