Shinsegae International, a South Korean company, has announced the signing of an exclusive distribution contract with Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, the Italian cosmetic brand. This strategic move by Shinsegae International aims to strengthen its presence in the luxury cosmetics sector in South Korea.
Dolce & Gabbana Beauty is a well-known cosmetic brand under the renowned fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. The brand gained popularity in 1992 with the launch of a perfume that revolutionized the world of fashion fragrances. In 2009, Dolce & Gabbana Beauty expanded its product lineup to include makeup items such as lipsticks and blushes.
Earlier this year, the brand established a separate legal entity in Italy, allowing for direct management of all aspects, from production to sales and distribution, from its headquarters.
To kickstart this collaboration, Shinsegae International will introduce a premium perfume line from Dolce & Gabbana Beauty on its proprietary platform, S.I. Village, on September 27th. The company plans to expand its sales network, including through retailers such as Chicor and Olive Young, in October.
In 2024, Shinsegae International aims to open standalone stores for Dolce & Gabbana Beauty in major department stores and duty-free shops. This strategic partnership marks an important step in bolstering the company’s imported cosmetics business. With the addition of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty to its diverse portfolio, which already includes brands like Diptyque, Byredo, Santa Maria Novella, Oribe, and Hourglass, Shinsegae International strengthens its position in the luxury cosmetics market.
