Yesterday, Reliance Retail has officially acquired the India business of Kiko Milano, the renowned Italian cosmetics brand, further expanding its footprint in the beauty sector. The acquisition, which was first reported by IndiaRetailing, has resulted in Kiko Milano’s products being made available on Reliance Retail’s omni-channel beauty retail platform, Tira. This move aligns with Reliance Retail’s broader strategy to enhance its presence in the beauty industry.
Kiko Milano, known for its extensive range of makeup, skincare, and accessories, entered the Indian market in 2016 and has since established approximately 10 stores across major cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Lucknow. The brand, which offers around 1,200 products, will now also be available at exclusive brand outlets in six cities, in addition to its presence on Tira.
This acquisition marks Reliance Retail’s second major foray into the global beauty and cosmetics market, following its acquisition of Sephora’s India operations in November 2023. Moreover, Kiko Milano is the third foreign brand previously operated by DLF Brands to be acquired by Reliance, after Mothercare and Sunglass Hut.
Reliance Retail’s Tira platform, launched as an e-commerce site in February 2023, now operates 12 stores across India, offering customers a seamless shopping experience both online and offline. Reliance Retail Ltd., a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd. (RRVL), continues to expand its integrated omni-channel network, which currently includes over 18,771 stores across various sectors, solidifying its position as a dominant player in the Indian retail landscape.
