Recently, TikTok Shop has launched a new initiative, the ‘£1 Million Club’ scheme, aimed at helping new merchants achieve £1 million in revenue on the platform. This support scheme offers a range of incentives to boost sales, including 90 days of commission-free sales and priority seller support services.
In addition to financial incentives, TikTok Shop will provide dedicated promotional support to enhance brand exposure. Sellers will also benefit from comprehensive training through TikTok Shop’s Seller Academy, which includes workshops on market trends and operational skills.
Jan Wilk, Head of Operations at TikTok Shop UK, emphasized the company’s commitment to aiding both large brands and small businesses in expanding their sales beyond traditional channels. “Through launching our new ‘£1 Million Club’ plan, we hope this package of e-commerce solutions and resource support will help UK businesses to grow rapidly by putting their products in front of new audiences,” Wilk said.
This initiative follows the success of entrepreneur and makeup artist Mitchell Halliday, who became the first UK beauty business owner to earn US$1 million in a single day on TikTok Shop. Halliday’s brand achieved this milestone by selling one cosmetic product every second during a 12-hour live event in June, generating over $830,000, with sales continuing post-event to surpass $1 million within 24 hours.
In 2023, make-up emerged as the top-selling beauty category on TikTok Shop in the UK, with colour cosmetics accounting for 42% of all sales. This was followed by skincare and hair care, which made up 25% and 11% of sales respectively. According to consumer insights firm NIQ, Gen Z consumers are the largest spenders on beauty products through the app.
